Lauren H. Marke

Lauren specializes in commercial real estate law, with a focus on leasing, and subleasing, acquisitions, and sales of commercial properties. She has represented both tenants and institutional landlords in California and across the nation in all transactional matters relating to their retail and office lease portfolios. On the residential side, she advises high net worth clients on the purchase and disposition of multi-million dollar estates throughout Southern California, including review of HOA agreements and negotiation of purchase contracts for homes under construction. Her practice has also included counseling clients on construction agreements and design-build agreements related to development of real estate.

Prior to joining Shoreline, Lauren was an associate with Allen, Matkins, Leck, Gamble, Mallory & Natsis LLP in Los Angeles, and with Bartko, Zankel, Bunzel & Miller in San Francisco.

Representative Matters

Commercial Leasing:

  • Represented a Los Angeles based film distribution company in their sublease of 36,000 sf of creative office space in Hollywood to a New York based co-working company for an 8-year term
  • Represented a California retirement fund landlord in its lease of 14,000 square feet of office space in the Sorrento Mesa area of San Diego to a national telecom company.
  • Represented a national discount store retailer tenant in connection with its lease portfolio, including completing over 25 leases for new store locations in California, Nevada, Texas, and Arizona, totaling over 300,000 square feet.
  • Represented a Westwood, California landlord in connection with a new lease to a European fashion retailer for its first Los Angeles storefront location.
  • Represented an Orange County-based real estate investment group in connection with its medical and office space portfolio across southern California and Arizona.
  • Represented a downtown Portland, Oregon landlord in its lease of 11,000 square feet of ground floor retail space in a historic, office building to a national retail chain drug store & pharmacy.

Purchase and Sale:

  • Represented a Los Angeles-based developer in its acquisition of four (4) separate commercial sites in Culver City for redevelopment as creative office space in the 4th quarter of 2018.
  • Represented a prominent Bakersfield law firm in connection with their purchase of a 30,000 square foot commercial office building and accompanying parking lot in downtown Bakersfield, California.
  • Represented a Hollywood producer/actor in connection with his $11.5 Million purchase of a 25,400 square foot commercial property in Beverly Hills to convert to film production space.
  • Represented a local design-build company in connection with its purchase of 30,000 square feet of commercial/industrial space for conversion to creative office building space in downtown Los Angeles, California.
  • Represented foreign and domestic buyers in residential purchase and sale transactions in Los Angeles totaling over $90,000,000 in 2018-2019.
